CNY Dinner 2009 at New Formosa Restaurant, SS2 PJ

This was our first Chinese New Year 'Lou Sang' Dinner with our fellow primary school friends at the SS2 New Formosa Restaurant. We picked this restaurant because we good reviews by floggers. It wasn't too hard to locate the restaurant if you are familiar with SS2 however, a few of our friends had trouble looking for it because the name of the restaurant on the signboard were too small to be noticed at first glance.

Nonetheless, everyone made it and we had a good time.

We started off with a 'Lou Sang' after waiting nearly 1.30 hours (for those who didn't make it on time). The plate was almost left clean after 10 minutes as all of us were hungry and though it was tasted slightly overly-sweet.

The Lot

Braised Chicken with Vegetables

Taiwanese Mee with Thick Savce, the sauce tasted sweet & salty and the portion of the noodle is HUGE for 9 of us.

Steamed Promphet Fish with Soy Sauce and Ginger

A combination of Butter Eel and Pork Spare Ribs in mild spicy sauce.

Bean curd top with sliced pork, black wood ears and salted fish. Some of us find it rather salty, but we still finished the dish.

Stir-fry Beans with Lily Bulb, Ginkgo and Pumpkin.

Deep fried sesame prawns Taiwanese style

Though the food that we've ordered tasted average, but it was a good gathering and get together with our primary school mates. Total damage of the 10 course meal we've ordered came up to RM486 (inclusive of tax). The price was rather pricey as it was during the Chinese New Year period and I guess we should've ordered their house specialties. To revisit the restaurant or not? Probably in future to order their food specialties..
